Naseem Jaffran is fifty years old and has resided in Lahore, Pakistan, for the last eight years. She is an uneducated lady, but she knows the value of education. She is married to Allah baksh, whose business is selling motor oil. He buys the oil from different cities and sells to motor repair shops. Naseem baji is the mother of three sons. Her elder son is a driver and drives an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). The others work in a factory for monthly wages. She is a seamstress by profession. She sews clothes by taking in orders from her neighbors and relatives. She saves her income and plans to marry off her elder son with that money. She has successfully repaid her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan and a field partner of Kiva). Now she is applying again for a loan to build up her husband’s motor oil business.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Yasmeen baji wants a loan to buy decoration pieces to sell. Razia bji wants a loan to buy scrap for her scrap business. Shafqat baji wants a loan to buy men's and women's readymade garments that she will sell. Ishtiaq begum baji wants a loan to buy wood for her shuttering business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
