Helena Asieduwaa

Helena Asieduwaa is forty-two years old. She is married and blessed with three children. Currently, her children are all pursuing education in junior and primary schools. She lives, with her family, in a family house in a town called Oda, a farming community in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She works with zeal as a resourceful parent to support her family and to provide for the children’s schooling. She is a fishmonger and sells all kinds of fresh and smoked fish. She sells through “hawking” (Door-to-door sales). She buys her goods from big time fish mongers in Yeji and Mankessim towns, who sell at wholesale prices. She has been in business for five years. According to Helena, most of her customers are food vendors in her community.

She believes the loan assistance would enable her to buy tilapia and assorted fish in bulk to serve a larger market and to improve her family’s finances. She is a member of a Trust Bank group called Rock of Ages Trust Group. Members in this group guarantee for one another, as social collateral, to access the loan and support themselves in handling repayment of the loan.
