Byambasuren Janlav lives with her husband and four teenage children in the Bayanzurh district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The oldest son is a university student and the rest of the children are high-school students.

Bayambasuren has a small business sewing children’s clothing. She is a trained seamstress and has been making children clothes, including school uniforms, since 1997. The whole family contributes to Byambasuren's business in some way. Her two daughters help her make new school uniforms when they have many client requests. When school starts in the fall, there is usually a very high demand for school uniforms. During these times, she hires two more temporary seamstresses.

For now, she is working out of one of bedrooms at her house, in order to avoid paying rent. In the future, she hopes to have a working place for her business. She requests a loan to purchase raw materials such as textiles for her business.
