The four women of the group Panama have an average age of 39 and have 4 children on average. They live in large traditional extended families in the village of Kimparana, in San prefecture, Segou region. United essentially by professional ties, the group members do dye work and sell clothing. They learned how to dye cloth from their mothers, who used to do it before. They also have secondary businesses, such as selling incense and henna. They are in demand for their primary, as much as their secondary, businesses.

Concerned about satisfying their definitely growing customer base, they joined Soro Yiriwaso three years ago. After having correctly repaid the five preceding loans, this group is now on its sixth solidarity loan (group loan). This loan will be used to buy white damask fabrics in Bamako (capital of Mali). Damask is highly prized and sought after by people from all walks of live. The fabric is treated with different colors. Thus dyed, it is sold in cash or credit transactions.

The group members each hope to realize a profit of 250,000 francs CFA in the course of this cycle. The profits will be used to make loan interest payments and to address family expenses.
