In the Los Andes area in the city of El Alto, there exists a center by the same name. It is to this center that “Cuestión de Fe,” an association of thirteen members, belongs. With the help of their loan advisor, this kind group of women work enthusiastically with Pro-Mujer to improve their businesses. The majority of the women are married with children of various ages. The daily household costs increase everyday and the incomes that they earn are insufficient to cover their basic needs.

The group produces a variety of products. Flora, for example, makes and sells yogurt. Others sell cellphone cases, videos, school supplies and makeup. They are hoping for more credit so that they can purchase wholesale products and increase their sales. The members of the group are confident that they can improve their incomes and their economic situation for the benefit of their families.

Entrepreneur: Cuestion De Fe Group
Location: El Alto / La Paz, Bolivia

Doña Flora (centre), a member of the Cuestion de Fe Group, continues to produce and sell yoghurt in the city of El Alto. Every week she travels twice to the city of Cochabamba so buy ingredients. She also prepares food in her house to sell in the markets of El Alto. She has worked with Pro Mujer for nearly ten years, growing her business bit by bit. She likes to work with Pro Mujer because they offer good training, but she think the organisation should give gifts to its borrowers for Mothers’ Day, like some other microfinance institutions in El Alto.
