Margaret Bonniey

Margaret Bonniey started her local restaurant 20 years ago in Takroase, a suburb of Akim Oda, where she lives. Takroase is a mining community where most of the young ones have occupied themselves with the mining business. She identified the opportunity of providing food when she realized people need good, tasty meals to satisfy their hunger. Since then, she has become one of the most popular food vendors in her neighborhood.

She is now 38 years old and married with eight children. Six of her children are in school while the rest are working. She serves many kinds of local dishes like fufu, banku and fried fish, among others. Fufu is prepared from pounded cassava and plantain, taken with soup. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and it is taken with hot pepper or soup.

She says demand for her food is increasing but her problem has to do with funds to buy more raw materials. She requests a loan to buy increased supplies of cassava, maize, fish, firewood, etc., to upgrade her inventory. She would be grateful for your assistance.
