Beatrice is a trader, who sells such food items as porridge, coco and donuts. With her loan Beatrice was able to buy more items necessary for producing her goods to sell, such as flour, oil, corn and sugar. Due to her increased purchasing power, Beatrice bought a large number of items in bulk at a decreased cost. Prior to the loan, Beatrice could buy one bag of flour but now she has the financial ability to purchase two or three at a time. In the coming year, Beatrice has big plans for her business. She wants to reach the level where she will be producing a large amount of goods and other people will be buying from her and then reselling the items. She wishes to become a producer, and move from a small scale business to a larger enterprise. Since receiving the loan, Beatrice’s monthly profits have increased from 60GH to 120GH.

She plans to use the savings she acquires through the success of her business to invest in her children’s education. Through the loan, Beatrice was able to improve her family’s home by adding an additional room.
