Adjoa Afadua

Adjoa Afadua is married with 5 dependents and has received an education through elementary school. Since 1990 she has worked as a trader in Elmina, selling an assortment of goods such as gari (a couscous-like grain made from grated cassava), maize, and utensils. While Adjoa works as a trader, her husband is employed as a surveyor. Adjoa uses her income to help pay her family’s bills. She plans to use the loan to purchase additional gari and maize for resale. With the new profits from her expanded business, Adjoa plans to continue saving so that eventually she may be able to build a home for her family.
