Davaa Shagdar lives with her husband in Arhanghay, one of Mongolia's central provinces. Davaa's family has three grown-up children, two of whom live independently from their parents. Her youngest daughter is a university student. Davaa has a small business making shoes. With her husband's help, Davaa started the shoe-making business in 2000. Since then the business has been doing very well. Working capital has increased from $70 to $700. Davaa buys raw materials from the local market and makes winter and spring shoes for women and men. Davaa pays her youngest daughter's university tuition from her profit. In the future, Davaa hopes to expand the shoe-making business by hiring another person. She requests a loan to purchase the materials needed for her shoe-making business.
