This will be Sia’s fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start selling clothes and cosmetics, the business she does on Sundays. She also located a place to sell her food in Mwenge which is just out of the city centre. She has had these businesses since 2003 and has paid back her loans successfully. She wants to use the new loan to increase her food stock and to buy more fabrics and cosmetics.
Sia will share this loan with her group, Mikumi. The group has 15 members, who do carpentry and food vending, sell eggs and chips (French fries), clothes, vegetables, cosmetics and music. They hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Sia is standing on the left, second row, in a flowered dress.
