Narmandah Sangidorj is 21 years old. He was just married this year. He also become a father one month ago. Narmandah's spouse, Oyuntsetseg, is a teacher who works at a local elementary school. She is now staying at home to take care of her infant.
Narmandah's family lives in a "ger" (a nomadic Mongolian tent) on land they own in Arhanghay, one of Mongolia's central provinces. In 2008, Narmandah started his retail business. He buys animals such as sheep and cows from herders in spring, when they are cheap, and feeds them all summer to use their milk to make dairy products. In autumn, when animals get fat, he kills and sells them. Narmandah says, "I would like to become a herder in the future, and own a thousand animals. I want my son to become a herder too.” He requests a loan to buy animals in the approaching spring to increase his business inventory.
