Davaasuren Jamyansuren is 45, married, and the mother of two. Both her sons are university students in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. She lives with her husband in a "ger" (a nomadic Mongolian tent) district in Arhanghay, one of Mongolian central provinces.

In 1999, together with her husband Nyamtseren, she started her clothing retail business at the local market. She works as a saleswoman and her husband goes to Ereen, a Chinese border city, to buy cheap apparel. Ereen is a city where many Mongolians go to buy cheap goods to resell in Mongolia. As a result of hard work, her working capital has increased from 400,000 tugrugs to 1,600,000 tugrugs ($1.00 USD=1450 MNT). From her profit, she pays for her sons' tuition.

Dear Lenders, Entrepreneur: Davaasuren Jamyansuren Location: Tsetserleg, Arhangay, Mongolia It has been more than two months since Davaasuren Jamyansuren received a Kiva loan. In fact, she repaid her first Kiva loan very quickly and has taken out a second Kiva loan! She would like to express her gratitude to all of her lenders! She used her loan to purchase women's and men's clothes from Ereen, China. Ereen is a border town where many inexpensive Chinese products are imported into Mongolia. The loan significantly boosted her working capital for her business, and she was able to continue her retail business without any delay in terms of clothing supply. Within two months after receiving the loan, she has been able to sell more than half of her inventory. She was able to use those revenues to pay off the loan. The sales from the remaining inventory will become her profit. She is now confident that she will be able to pay for her son's tuition with the profit.
