Carlos is responsible for the maintenance of his home. He has been able to meet his two children’s needs thanks to the help of their mother. The children have everything they need in their house where they all live as a family.

Every morning at daybreak Carlos leave for the beaches that are closest to his home to buy fish. He later sells them in the wholesale market. Selling fish is one of the most profitable activities in his area because the merchants, big and small, visit this market for its quality and quantity of products. This works to his favor. But, it is difficult to get up at three in the morning, and leave to buy fish to later take to the market, where you can only sell until eight in the morning. The merchants leave very early; if for any reason you are late getting there you have little chance of selling all of your fish. Therefore, the earlier he leaves home, the better chance he has of finishing early.

In time, Carlos would like to have a Fishermen’s Merchant Association to see about the possibility of exporting or distributing products to different cities.

Carlos is the founder of the group that formed three years ago in MFP. This is his fifth loan. As president of his community bank he has the gratifying experience of working together with his companions. They are very hard working and committed. In spite of the fact that under some circumstances they are momentarily discouraged, they keep working together.

Acquiring more product will help him increase his income, and that is what he will do with the 1500 PEN that he is now asking for.
