Rukhsana Akbar Ali Group

Rukhsana baji is twenty-nine years old and has lived in Lahore, Pakistan for the last eight years. Her husband, Akbar ali, sells construction supplies. He has three years of experience in this business. Rukhsana baji is the mother of two daughters. Both of her daughters are in kindergarten. Rukhsana baji is applying for a loan to buy more construction supplies, such as cement and sand, to help her husband’s business.

She is the group leader of three other women from her locality. Zeb-un-nisa baji wants a loan to buy supplies (books, pencils and notebooks) for her book shop. Mukhtaran baji wants a loan to buy a donkey cart for loading. Sakina baji wants a loan to repair her husband’s auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle).

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.





About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
