Your Mission... To help us change the world!
Using your deep expertise in practices, processes, & tools, you'll establish Kiva's first-ever stand-alone QA function. Expectations are that your work will systemically raise the quality standards of our globally deployed software for all our constituents. Done well, your efforts will be critical to helping Kiva realize 10x growth in traffic across our lender's platform over the next 5 years - from .5M to 5M lenders, with loan volume growth from $100M to an expected $1 billion! This may well be the most important work of your career…

Your Responsibilities...
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you're Kiva's sole QA engineer. You need to be comfortable as a hands-on individual contributor, with some natural leadership tendencies, since you'll:

  • Most of the time - design/implement/use automated test tools & write unit tests
  • Part of the time – install processes & build a fledgling QA team from alternative resources (interns/volunteers)
  • Select & blend testing strategies (unit, black box, end-user) for what's appropriate in the cycle
  • Use your knowledge of SDLC process to improve the testability of the engineers' code
  • Perform both software & systems level QA

Your Profile...
Our ideal candidate is a Lead QA Engineer who's built a QA function for financial app's & embraces Kiva's mission, with:

  • 8+ years in QA (b2b or b2c) – in hands-on black & white box testing, with some lead or mgt experience
  • Knowledge of QA in a LAMP SDLC environment with test scripting & frameworks coding
  • Comfort in an Agile, quick-release shop where continuous integration & test-driven development (TDD) is the norm
  • Deep expertise in QA processes, practices, tools & the know-how to institutionalize same
  • Implementing/designing/running automated testing tools including browser-based testing of web applications
  • Education – BSCS / BSEE degree
  • Attributes – collaborative / socially conscious / excited about Kiva's growth potential / low ego
  • Wish List – experience with financial / banking / accounting / payment applications, & salesforce.com integrations
