Location: San Francisco, CA – Downtown/Mission District
Job Type: Volunteer, 3 days / week
Term: 6-8 months

Job Description:The Kiva Translation and Editing Program works with a team of over 300 volunteers on 6 continents to translate, edit, and verify entrepreneur profiles posted to Kiva.org.
As an intern with the Kiva Translation and Editing Program, this individual will play a critical role in bringing on new volunteers and supporting the growth of Kiva's volunteer programs. They will be the first face of Kiva to new volunteers, and will help welcome them and provide information about Kiva's volunteer teams. This individual is a self-starter who loves interacting with a wide range of people, is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, and loves to learn. We're looking for candidates to fill this position in Kiva's San Francisco headquarters. This is a part-time unpaid position.
Core Tasks:
- Own project for volunteer recruitment, screening and testing. Communicate with applicants.
- Build volunteer community. Create content for volunteer newsletter and wiki, including monthly Microfinance Partner of the Month feature.
- Support volunteer events.
- Do online research for new team projects or tools.
- Build your Excel skills! Learn to run reports and create graphs for the team.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and web applications
- Superior customer service orientation
- Excels at keeping information organized and tracking details
- Creative problem-solving skills and curiosity to learn
- Flexible and willing to help as needed
- BA or current undergraduate
- A plus: proficiency in Spanish, French, or Russian
